Just a little glimpse into everyday life... 

The monsters were just hanging out in the shade, using the dog as their pillow.  Of course, this was before the dog decided he liked lollipops too.



Macro Filter

Quite a while back I bought a cheap fisheye converter with a macro filter. I wasn't exactly thrilled with the image quality and stashed it away. I came across it last week and thought I'd try out the macro filter by itself. Disastrous results!! It looked like I was shooting through wax paper or something. I figured either it was broken or I was completely inept!

Turns out it's not broken...

After a few great pointers from the photography group, I started to get the hang of it. Here are the results of an afternoon of practice.

Monsters on Monday - May 21st

We took the monsters for a drive this weekend to go see if we could get a glimpse of some wolf pups my hubby had found the day before.  Unfortunately the mother had moved them, but we saw plenty of fun things.  We watched the eclipse through a welding mask and saw a few bears.  Plus the scenery was just amazing!  It was so green!

Birth Story

Birth photography is one thing I didn't thinkI'd have the opportunity to do, but it was one of the most amazing experiences ever.  It was a huge day for my sister and her husband, so the pressure was on and I was very nervous.  I really wanted to be able to capture everything as perfectly as possible.  I spent quite a bit of time practicing in different indoor lighting conditions, not knowing what it would be like in her hospital room. My sister did great and had a relatively easy delivery.  She's amazing!

This one is my absolute favorite!  What a beautiful moment for her family!

My Sister's Maternity Session

Can I just say I have the best sisters ever?  They've both been great about letting me practice my photography on them and have been VERY patient with my slow progress on their pictures.

My middle sis gave me some fun firsts in the last few months - first maternity session and first birth session!

The day of her maternity session was very overcast and windy, but she looked beautiful and my nephew was stinkin' adorable, but didn't really want much to do with posing.  Typical 2 year old, huh?

We're Having a Girl!

So we had our 20 week ultrasound last week and found out we're having a girl!  The poor ultrasound tech had to keep going back to check (like 5 times!) because we were both in such disbelief.  I honestly thought we were having another boy! 

We went out and got a few pink outfits thinking that having something girly in our house might make it seem more real.

I have to admit I love all the expressions the boys gave me for these photos - especially my oldest, who has said it's a girl ever since we found out we were having another baby.  He's so excited!
