One Speedlight Workshop

Yesterday I was able to attend the One Speedlight Workshop taught by Lisa Wood.

(Thanks for staying home to watch the monsters, honey!)

It was exactly what I needed.  Lisa showed us how to use a speedlight and modifiers (such as umbrellas and reflectors) to enhance your photography. One of the sweet ladies in my photography group let me borrow a speedlight for the workshop and away I went!  I still need tons more practice, but it was great hands-on learning experience for me.

The first two photos were shot in a basement that was originally lit with only fluorescent lights.  Amazing what one speedlight and an umbrella will do, huh?

The others were shot outside, some backlit and some in the shade.  The flash really helped fill in shadows on our beautiful model's face.

Now I just need a speedlight of my own!

  3. Fantastic job Katie! I found that most of my best exposed images were NOT when Anne was looking at my camera. Hazard of the workshop mob scene I thought but seeing these I am humbled.
