My hubby and I took a drive to Reynolds Creek in Owyhee County last month and I had a chance to get lots of photos with my new wide angle lens. I made the poor guy stop the truck so many times that he may not take me again if I have my camera with me!
This was also one of my first attempts at an HDR (High Dynamic Range) image. Basically, HDR is the merging of multiple exposures to get an image that will more accurately reflect the wide range of intensity levels seen by the human eye. Without HDR, either the canyon would be properly exposed and the sky would be blown out or the sky would be properly exposed and the canyon would be almost completely dark. I plan on working on this technique more in the future, so stay tuned...
And what drive out in a rural Idaho area would be complete without some rusty metal? The color versions were nice, but these photos were just screaming for some warm black and white processing...
